Today marks two years since the UK went into lockdown, which is a trippy and upsetting thought. It was a leap year and in February 2020, when the madness was still over there, I decided to use one roll of film over those twenty nine days.
By the time they had been developed and I received my scans on the 24th, I was working from home full-time, we were only allowed to go to the supermarket once a week and have one hour of daily exercise. When I first flicked through them they felt intrusive and discordant and I didn't want to be reminded of what we had so quickly lost–not because they are exceptional images that show life at its fullest, but because I could remember who I was with and how I had felt around each capture. So I left them alone.
I’ve tried to do a few things with these photos since and none have worked, so I thought I’d share them with you here–in no particular order–some stills from the last month of normality.
